Many of my photos reflect life in northern California, where I live. Here I have come to know a community of photographers and received awards in juried shows, including, in two different years, Best of Show awards in the annual Northwest Eye exhibitions at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. For all this, I am thankful.

But mostly I am thankful for the constant, swirling imagery that appears whether I am here or elsewhere. A vendor peers at me from his booth. A pile of tree limbs, dashed with light, lies beside the road. A bird rises from a marsh. Camera in hand, I seem to find my own place in the world I am seeing. I am witness and collaborator. That is a gift.
